Diane is an Australian mixed media artist, inspired by nature, colour and texture.

Since graduating in 2018 with High Distinction from the Canberra Institute of Technology's Diploma of Visual Arts, Diane has focused on expanding her art practice from the figurative elements of realism to intuitive abstraction, resulting in an eclectic body of work.

Working exclusively on oil paper and using oil paint and cold wax as her prime mediums, Diane creates small intimate perspectives of the natural world as experienced through the visual relationships of shape, colour and light.

Each original artwork is the product of the detailed, bespoke compositional process of layering and scraping of oil paint and cold wax medium, with a range of other materials such as graphite, charcoal, collage and metal foil highlights incorporated into selected individual pieces. This process allows Diane to produce a nuanced deconstruction of shape and form with textures and structures to reveal  a unique pathway to coherence, unity and story-telling.

Diane has exhibited at several Australian galleries and her early realism artworks have been showcased in international art publications in America and Denmark.
